Emergency services rushed to Rochdale Road, on the edge of Manchester city centre, during the morning of November 9 following reports of an incident involving at least buses.
Police officers, fire fighters and North West Ambulance Services are on the scene. An air ambulance was also seen landed in a car park nearby.
The incident resulted in the whole road being blocked.
Members of the public are advised to avoid the area and motorists should make alternative travel arrangements where possible.
