Manchester United’s winning run was brought to an end by Nottingham Forest. After a miserable year in charge of the Red Devils, Ruben Amorim’s side came into the contest off the back of three Premier League victories in a row.
The Portuguese boss’ side took the lead through Casemiro and went into half time with the lead. However, Sean Dyche’s side turned the game on its head as Morgan Gibbs-White and Nicolo Savona scored within the first five minutes of the second half. The Reds were on the brink of defeat until Amad stepped up to score a stunning equaliser with just nine minutes to snatch a 2-2 draw for the Reds. Senne Lammens
Despite making several crucial saves, he was powerless to stop Forest’s two goals, particularly the second. Rating: 6/10
Leny Yoro
Most of Forest’s offensive play was directed away from Yoro, which could be seen as a testament to the Frenchman’s defensive prowess. Rating: 7/10
Matthijs de Ligt
He made an excellent recovery to deny Nicolò Savona in the first half, but should have done better with Forest’s second goal. Rating. 6/10
Luke Shaw
If he maintains this form, he’ll surely earn a recall to the England squad. It was unfortunate he was part of a defence which conceded twice. 6/10
Amad Diallo
He had two great opportunities when cutting in from the right wing. Despite being unable to win the header against Gibbs-White, he scored a spectacular goal to level the match at 2-2. 7/10
Casemiro
He got United off to a flying start with a fantastic header. He seemed to tire as the game wore on, but managed to complete his first full 90 minutes in the Premier League this season. 6/10
Bruno Fernandes
He was relatively subdued in the first half until he delivered a beautiful cross for Casemiro’s goal. He hit the post in the second half, but Casemiro failed to capitalise on the rebound. 6/10
Diogo Dalot
Dalot always raises eyebrows when playing on the left side and he was found wanting at various points during the match. Amorim expected more from him, but he didn’t step up. 3/10
Bryan Mbeumo
Mbeumo is playing with immense confidence and could have notched up several assists if opportunities had been seized. He sent a tantalising pass to Benjamin Sesko in the first half, but the striker didn’t take the risk. 7/10
Benjamin Sesko
Sesko botched an opportunity in the box at the start of the match and pulled another shot wide after deftly creating some room for himself. He looked sharp and provided a target upfront but didn’t manage to find the back of the net. 5/10
Matheus Cunha.
Despite his hard work, Cunha wasn’t at his creative peak. 6/10
