Man Utd confirm new Amad Diallo deal as Ruben Amorim rewards star with lucrative contract | Football | Sport

Amad Diallo’s future at Manchester United looks brighter than ever, as the young winger has signed on the dotted line to secure his stay until 2030.

Having already racked up 50 appearances, Amad has been turning heads under the meticulous guidance of new manager Ruben Amorim.

At just 22 years old, he has notched up six goals this term, including impactful strikes such as his decisive goal against Manchester City and a crucial late leveller against arch-rivals Liverpool last Sunday.

Overwhelmed with pride, Amad expressed his joy, telling United’s website: “I am really proud to have signed this new contract. I have had some incredible moments with this club already but there is so much more to come.

“I have huge ambitions in the game and I want to achieve history at Manchester United.”

His time at the club has been undoubtedly formative, and he acknowledged the support that got him to this point: “I have learnt so much since arriving here four years ago,” he added.

“I am very grateful to the coaches and staff who have helped me to develop, and to the fans for driving me forward every day.”

Diallo is also buoyant about the club’s trajectory: “It has been a difficult season for everyone, but I fully believe that we are on the right path and the future is going to be really special. I am ready to give everything to help the team and make our supporters proud again.”

Chiming in with equal enthusiasm, United’s Technical Director Jason Wilcox shared his perspective: “Everyone is delighted with Amad’s development; his quality on the ball, versatility and determination makes him a key part of the future of Manchester United.”

Wilcox also anticipates great things ahead: “The best years of his career are ahead of him, and we all look forward to helping Amad to reach his immense potential and achieve success at the club in the coming seasons.”

Amad began the season in the squad under ex-United boss Erik ten Hag, but his limited playing time under the Dutch manager, who was dismissed in October, left him disgruntled.

The Ivorian star had successful loan stints at Rangers and Sunderland, netting 14 times in 42 appearances for the Black Cats in the 2022-23 campaign.
