A manhunt is underway after a man in his 30s was “stabbed eight times” in a brutal attack in a park. The victim was attacked in Havant, near Portsmouth just after midnight on Tuesday, September 2.
The man’s sister took to social media and said that he was stabbed eight times, leaving him with a punctured lung. He is understood to be in a stable condition in hospital, but his injuries are not deemed to be life-threatening. Police say that the attacker remains at large, as they conduct a manhunt operation and appeal for any information from the public.
A spokesperson said: “A man in his 30s was seriously assaulted in a park near Chalton Crescent in Havant.
“It was reported that the man had been stabbed and he was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment by the ambulance service. His injuries have been described as serious, but not life-threatening.
“An investigation has been launched and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
Air Ambulance is reported to have been deployed to the scene, which is situated in a residential area and boasts sports pitches and a playground.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance confirmed the air ambulance was dispatched at 12.13am to the incident.
In a statement they said: “The Critical Care Team consisting of a doctor and a specialist paramedic provided treatment to a patient on scene before escorting them to hospital by road ambulance for further treatment.”
