Man cut in half by forklift shares heartbreaking message about struggle to make friends

“I’m never really busy doing anything, just don’t know who to hit up and let into my life.”

Loren, who lives in the US state of Montana, also feels he’s been let down by many “friends”, meaning it’s hard for him to trust people.

He explained: “Been betrayed by so many ‘friends’ in so many ways that I might have trust issues letting people into my life, not stealing from me, taking advantage of whatever they can, stuff like that.

“I know it’s dumb to make it out into a Facebook post but hey! If anyone is looking for a friend! I’m always free and need to [make] some friends. Haven’t hung out with anyone that isn’t family in over a year it feels like lol. HMU!”

Loren suffered the life-changing injuries when forklift fell off a bridge and landed on him. He underwent emergency hemicorperectomy surgery meaning everything below the waist was amputated.

Against all odds, his health started to come back despite doctors’ worst fears. He even left hospital after three months – a year earlier than the expectation of surgeons.

In response to his heartfelt post, the comment section was filled with well-wishes.

Users empathised with Loren, with one sharing: “I haven’t had friends for about three years now. It is extremely hard to find friends. Hang in there cuzzo.”

A third said: “You’re not alone. This is something that I’ve struggled with since graduating high school. I was in college for over three years and I didn’t make a single friend.”
