Make a delicious 'creamy' ramen in just 15 minutes with simple recipe

There are so many variations of ramen to experiment with but the most common kind served in Japan is known as Shoyu.

This kind of ramen is served in a soup base, typically chicken broth, flavoured with soy sauce – so it’s very easy to make at home.

TikTok cooks known as TheModernProperWeeknightDinner (@themodernproper) share easy weeknight dinner recipes for every day, and have the perfect method for ramen.

In a video shared on their page, the popular chefs said: “We just figured out how to make our favourite 15-minute ramen creamy.”

Showing the delicious bowl of food, they noted: “Have you ever seen anything so beautiful… just 15 minutes my friends.”

Method

Start with the broth base by taking some good-quality chicken stock and pouring it into a large heatproof casserole dish.

Next, slice up the shiitake mushrooms and bok choy then add to the stock along with the soy sauce, fish sauce, grated garlic and ginger.

Place two of the raw eggs in whole, cover the pot with a lid and cook for seven minutes over high heat on the stove so everything comes to a boil.

Meanwhile, in a small bowl, whisk the remaining egg along with the Japanese mayonnaise and sambal oelek (or sriracha), until smooth.

Remove the eggs from the ramen and transfer them to an ice bath for easy peeling.

Remove one cup of chicken broth from the casserole pot and set aside, then add the noodles to the pot and cook for four minutes.

Slowly pour broth into the egg mixture, whisking vigorously, then slowly stir the egg mixture into the ramen until fully combined.

Divide the delicious creamy ramen into two bowls and top with eggs, green onions, sesame seeds and chilli crisp.
