Madeleine McCann's parents deliver 'awful' update on 2023 as hunt for daughter continues

Madeleine McCann’s parents have given an update on their “determination, commitment and vigour” to find their missing daughter Madeleine.

Maddie, as she is most commonly known, went missing as a toddler in May 2007 when she was aged just three – and the circumstances around her disappearance remain a mystery.

But in an update to their followers on Facebook, Maddie’s parents Kate and Gerry McCann said their resolve to find her remained undimmed.

The McCanns’ Facebook post read: “Another year comes to a close. I’m sure they’re getting shorter!

“Whilst there is no new significant news to share in the search for Madeleine, efforts continue with the same determination, commitment and vigour.

He is also suspected of further rapes and child sexual abuse committed in the area between 2000 and 2017.

Police in Germany are currently actively looking for former romantic partners of Brueckner.

Investigators believe that these ex-lovers may be able to reconstruct the “confused timeline” of the years when the 54-year-old was allegedly “drifting” around Praia De Luz.

The McCanns were questioned by detectives in September 2007 and were both considered suspects in their daughter’s disappearance. But the status was lifted the following year as the investigation failed to yield results.

Portuguese police recently apologised to the family for the way detectives investigated the case and for the way the McCanns were treated.
