A crash on the M1 is resulting in severe delays of nearly an hour for rush hour commuters. Live traffic cameras show queues stretching for miles since the incident which happened at around 7am today (April 8).
A collision occurred between junctions 9 and 11 on the northbound carriagway with National Highways predicting traffic will resume by around 8.45am. The nature of the crash, including how many vehicles involved and any injuries, are not yet known.
Delays are currently predicted to last for around 30 to 40 minutes. Only one lane has been closed by cameras show the road looking completely gridlocked as people head to work and school.
Current live data suggests traffic may be starting to move around junction 13.
