M1 and A14 traffic LIVE: Traffic chaos – lorry on side and long motorway delays


Two major roads in England are experiencing lengthy delays due to two separate incidents. On the M1, near Luton Airport in Bedfordshire, a crash is causing queues to grow. On the A14, near Cambridge, an overturned lorry has sparked a part-road closure.

National Highways has predicted delays of up to 20 minutes on the A14 westbound at the junction of Bar Hill. Traffic cameras appear to show a lorry on its side. Traffic is not due to resume to until at least 11am, causing misery for drivers who are already stuck on the road.

On the M1, the southbound carriageway between junctions 11 and 10 is at a standstill due to a crash, with delays currently standing at between 30 to 40 minutes. The nature of the crash, including how many vehicles involved, is not yet known.
