Loose Women star Frankie Bridge made an embarrassing admission about her driving today, explaining that a member of the public had called her out for stopping traffic on her way to the studio today. The ITV panellist confessed she had been left “mortified” during a discussion with her fellow presenters about transport etiquette.
“Actually, this morning I got told off by a member of the public,” The Saturdays star revealed. “I was in my car driving here and I was stuck at a junction where I had to come out from the lights but there was traffic coming from the left.
“But where I had to go on the right, there was one of those yellow boxes. So I couldn’t go into it, so the lights kept changing and I was still stuck there.
“And I was thinking, ‘Oh god, what am I going to do?’ Because every time it was my turn to go, a car came from the left… And there was traffic behind me.”
Frankie then went on to reveal a fellow driver had left her car to ask her what the hold up was. She said: “This woman appeared at the window and knocked on the window.
“I was like, ‘Ooh!’ and put the window down and she was like, ‘Excuse me? The lights have changed three times… Can you move?’
“And I was like, ‘But the box! I can’t go because of the traffic…’ And she was like: ‘You’re allowed to go in that spot there.’”
Frankie then explained that she had thought that path was reserved for traffic coming from her right and was worried about blocking even more cars.
“I was just scared,” she confessed. “She was really nice about it.
“I put the window back up and then I was just so mortified,” Frankie added, as the audience laughed sympathetically.
“And then I felt really guilty and then managed to go on the second light change or something like that.”
Admitting to being conflict-averse in nature, she added: “If it was me and I was behind me, I’d have just sat there all day.”
