The estimated jackpot is $900 million (with a cash option of $465.1 million); the jackpot grows until it is won. There’s no significant way of improving your 1 in 292.2 million odds of winning the jackpot – unless you have millions of dollars to gamble. How long has it been since each Powerball number won?
Every ball has rolled out in the 100-plus drawings during the past 12 months, but a handful haven’t come up in months, such as Nos. 8, 13 and 40. For the Powerball, Nos. 21 and 22 are looking good.
The most frequently drawn Powerball numbers
These two charts show the dozens of draws during the last couple of years and give you a sense of which numbers have hit at above- or below-average rates.
Least likely numbers: No. 36 have been picked more than two dozen times – well above the average of 15 times in 207 games.
Most likely numbers: No. 29 has hit just six times while Nos. 13, 25 and 48 have hit seven times in the game’s recent history.

Among the Powerballs, Nos. 4 and 14 are the least likely. Nos. 13, 15, 19 and 21 are well below the expected average. Of the four, only 21 hasn’t hit in 2023.

When is the next Powerball drawing?
Monday, July 17: The Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 11 p.m. ET. You pick five numbers between 1-69 for the white balls and select one number between 1-26 for the red Powerball. Match all five white balls in any order and pick the correct red ball, and you’re a jackpot winner.
