Nine people have been rushed to hospital following a horror bus crash in south London. A witness at the scene has said the bus and a police van collided on Kennington Park Road near Oval Underground station earlier on Wednesday.
A local worker told MyLondon that the police van had a person inside it when it crashed, though this is unconfirmed.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police were called to Kennington Park Road, SE11 at about 11.32am on Wednesday, 14 February following reports of a collision involving a police van and a bus.
“Officers attended the scene alongside colleagues in LAS and LFB. Nine people were taken to hospital, including a number of police officers. Their injuries have been assessed as not life threatening or life changing.
“Road closures remain in place while officers deal with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.”
