The results were based on people voting on its website for where they think is the most depressing place to live and the reasons why.
Despite, Croydon being known for its trams, great bars and of course Boxpark it didn’t go down well.
Property prices can’t even deter people’s minds when it comes to Croydon. Seeing as the area was the most affordable location in London for buyers in January 2024.
According to Zoopla, you can get onto the property ladder for £76,000 in a shared-ownership home. This means you can pay a 5% deposit of £3,800 with the right lender.
Meanwhile, the average selling price for properties in Croydon was £448,226. Broken down it saw the average price of a terraced house was £468,438 and for flats it was £286,116.
However, Croydon wasn’t the most depressing town in the UK. Surprisingly, Falmouth in Cornwall bagged the top spot.

People went on to describe Falmouth as being a “dumping ground” saying the worst places in the area are Old Hill and Acacia.
