Las Vegas Aces' Riquna Williams arrested on domestic battery, strangulation charges


Las Vegas police say that Aces guard Riquna Williams was arrested on Tuesday and charged with nine counts stemming from a domestic violence investigation.

According to Clark County, Nevada court records obtained by USA TODAY Sports, Williams was charged with three felony counts of strangulation, one felony count of assault with a deadly weapon, one felony count of coercion. She was also booked on four misdemeanor counts of domestic battery.

During her initial court appearance on Wednesday, Williams was released on her own recognizance and is mandated to undergo alcohol monitoring and mental health counseling. Williams’ next court appearance is set for Aug. 2.

The Aces released a statement saying Williams is “precluded from participating in team activities.”
