A Wisconsin State Patrol trooper helped a kitten hang on to one of its nine lives — adopting the tiny fuzzball after it was abandoned on a highway ramp.
The trooper, Brody Schmitz, stopped to help a driver pulled over on a ramp near Interstate 90 who reported that she saw “someone throwing kittens out of a moving vehicle,” the Wisconsin State Patrol said in a May 29 Facebook post.

The offending vehicle wasn’t located, but one of the kittens was found.
Schmitz brought the black-and-white Tuxedo cat to a nearby animal shelter, then told staff he wanted to adopt him.
When he finished his shift, Schmitz returned to the feline facility and took the discarded mouser to his new fur-ever home.
And couldn’t wait to introduce his mew-est family member to the world.
“Well, everyone meet Toby,” the State Patrol said in the post.

What happened to the other kittens is unclear, but for Toby, what could have been a life-threatening disaster had a happy ending, thanks to a real-life hero.
“And that my friends, is how you find true love,” said one Facebook commenter.
“Trooper Toby is now on duty!” said another.
A third added: “Thanks for saving Toby, you’re the real MVP (Most Valuable Paw-ficer)!”
