King Charles's true feelings towards Princess Kate brought to light by an insider

As Princess of Wales, Kate has a massive role to play within the Royal Family. As the wife of the heir to the throne, the princess doesn’t just have her projects to lead and public duties to perform.

Rather, she is also bringing up King Charles III’s grandchildren – including the future Prince of Wales and heir, Prince George. Having proven her worth in the Royal Family for more than a decade, Kate has earned the admiration of the monarch, according to an insider.

In an extract published by the Daily Mail of Robert Hardman’s new book, Charles III: New King. New Court, a source described as a “friend” claimed: “He thinks Catherine is doing a wonderful job, not just with her royal duties but also in bringing up his grandchildren.”

The author isn’t the first to report on the strong bond Kate and King Charles are believed to share.

Last month, a royal source claimed to People magazine: “It is clear that she and the King are quite close — in some respects closer to him than William.”

The source added the Princess of Wales has helped the King and Prince William to grow closer to one another. Their bond, the source alleged, improved particularly as Prince Harry drifted away from the Royal Family in recent years.

They claimed: “It’s only been recently that William has been closer [to Charles] — and Kate has acted as the honest broker in that.”

Over the years, some reports have claimed Prince William and King Charles have been at loggerheads over a number of issues.

Nevertheless, Mr Hardman said in his newly published book they “have a strong admiration for what each other has achieved in terms of keeping the environment to the fore”.

The report on the King and the Princess of Wales’ relationship came as it emerged both Charles and Kate are experiencing health issues.

On Wednesday, Kensington Palace announced the princess had undergone abdominal surgery at The London Clinic. Following the successful operation, she will remain at the hospital for up to 14 days, after which she will continue her recovery at home for several weeks.

As a result of the surgery, the princess will need to postpone her upcoming engagements, and is unlikely to reappear in public until after Easter.

Also on Wednesday, Buckingham Palace announced the King is to undergo surgery next week for an elarged prostate.

While it is unusual for the Palace to give such detail on a health matter, the monarch decided to provide an insight into his health as he wishes to share his diagnosis to encourage other men to get themselves checked.
