King Charles's estate vandalised by heartless yobs as he endures cancer treatment

A football pitch that belongs to King Charles has been targeted by vandals who are believed to have used weed killer to cause damage. The UK monarch is recovering at the Sandringham estate, it is understood, after his diagnosis of cancer as it’s believed it’s a more restful place than his other residences.

But police have now revealed that they are investigating after grass was killed on one of the village playing surfaces in Dersingham, which belongs to the estate in Norfolk.

Weed killer is thought to have been used on the grass and it is not known whether the King is aware of the damage, reports The Mirror.

A Norfolk police spokesman said: “We are investigating a report of vandalism on Manor Road in Dersingham.

“It’s believed to have happened between February 7 – 10. If anyone has any information please contact us quoting crime ref 36/10339/24 via email: SNTDersinghamandGayton@Norfolk.police.uk or by phoning 101.”

The field is used by Dersingham Rovers FC and is leased from the Royal Estate by Dersingham Parish Council.

Rovers under-15s coach Paul Lough was furious at the vandalism and took to social media platform X to vent his anger.

He tweeted: “Yet again more vandalism at @DersinghamFC this time weed killer on our main pitch!

“More hours that volunteers have to spend to repair the damage caused by pathetic idiots with nothing better to do than try and stop youth and adult teams playing football”

Another replied: “Beggars belief as to why someone would want to do this!” King Charles, 75, is understood to be living at Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate during cancer treatment.

King Charles waved to well-wishers as he headed back to the Norfolk estate on Tuesday morning – just 24 hours after returning to London for cancer treatment.

Dressed smartly in a suit and tie, the 75-year-old monarch looked in high spirits as he acknowledged members of the public who had gathered outside Buckingham Palace and along the Mall.

Queen Camilla was not with him as he started the 150-mile journey back to Sandringham, as she is carrying on with public duties today.

Last Monday Buckingham Palace announced that the King had been diagnosed with an unspecified form of cancer and had started treatment as an out-patient.
