King Charles 'would love to welcome Prince Harry back' but there's one problem

King Charles is reportedly keen on giving his son Prince Harry another chance, with one royal expert saying he “would love” to welcome him back – however there seems to be just one major obstacle in place of such a development.

While the pair have officially fallen out at the moment, Robert Hardman, author of the new book The Making of a King: King Charles III and the Modern Monarchy, is a strong believer that the two will reunite “at some point in the future”, according to The Mirror.

Hardman’s book has a strong focus on the pair’s fallout, but he backs up his beliefs by saying “I don’t know how and when” the reunion will take place, before confirming that “on this side of the Atlantic, the door is always open”.

Nevertheless, Harry’s memoir, Spare, which made many serious accusations, will have put a spanner in the works of any rekindling – especially any time soon. Despite this, the pair supposedly spoke in an emotional call on the King’s birthday in November.

But aside from the book, there is one major thing which could disrupt any plans to be friends again. According to Hardman, Harry might be reluctant to “reengage with his family” because of the accusations he made against close relatives.

Hardman reiterates, however, that “Charles would love to have him back in the fold” – although probably not as a working royal. Indeed, even “Harry would not want to do that” he says, although the royal expert boldly asserts that we also can’t rule out the fact that Harry and Meghan might do royal work again.

His astute analysis also touched on how Harry and William might become friends again. He summed up the situation by saying: “A lot of families go through these things… I don’t pretend to be close to the Sussexes at all but, from what I glean, it’s a ‘never say never’ situation”.

The rift may finally be closing however, as important news broke recently that Harry and Meghan have sent a message of support to Princess Kate, who has undergone an important abdominal surgery.
