King Charles and Queen Camilla 'unlikely to celebrate' major milestone next week

King Charles and Queen Camilla will hit a new milestone next week as Tuesday, April 9 will mark their 19th wedding anniversary. However, the pair are likely not going to celebrate this year, the monarch’s former butler has claimed.

Charles and Camilla were married in 2005, 35 years after they first met in 1970, in a ceremony watched live by millions across the globe.

Grant Harrold, who worked for King Charles between 2004 and 2011 said the King and Queen will likely not be having any parties and opt for a”romantic dinner” instead.

Speaking on behalf of Spin Genie, he said: “I can’t believe it’s 19 years this year. I was there that day, in the church. They’ll celebrate it, but they’re not big [on celebrations].

“They don’t have parties or anything like that at all. Maybe for 20 years, they will. But it’s normally marked privately between the two of them.

“I’m sure there’ll be a card and then a gift, very similar to the way that other people celebrate it, they’ll probably do the same.”

The former royal butler added that this year’s anniversary will be more “emotional” and “poignant” amid Charles’s ongoing health struggles as he undergoes treatment for his cancer.

He explained: “I’m sure this year will be a bit more poignant and probably a bit emotional with everything going on.

“I have no doubt they’ll be together for the occasion, and I’m sure behind closed doors, they’ll probably have a romantic dinner with just the two of them.

“With the King’s treatment, he might not have any other people there, so it is likely to be private between the two of them.”

Charles, who was diagnosed with cancer back in February, has postponed his public-facing duties as he undergoes treatment for his illness.

However, the monarch pleasantly surprised wellwishers who had gathered to see him on Easter Sunday when he greeted them outside St George’s Chapel after the service.
