Joe Biden ‘wandering around dazed and confused’ as President has 'lost his mind'

US President Joe Biden is “wandering around dazed and confused” his administration is acting with “impunity”, a political analyst tells Daily Express US.

On Friday, it was announced that the President will not face charges after he wilfully retained classified documents.

But the reasoning for this has once again brought Biden’s fitness for office into question. Special counsel Robert Hur said charges would be pushed for as a jury would see Biden as an “elderly man” with “limited memory.”

Biden even called a press conference to respond to the comments, only to confuse Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi as the leader of Mexico.

Speaking to Daily Express US, Nile Gardiner, director of the Margaret Thatcher Centre for Freedom at The Heritage Foundation, said Biden’s age raises big questions about his ability to lead.

He said: “Firstly, Biden is increasingly mentally incompetent. That was hugely evident from his trainwreck press conference where he confused Egypt with Mexico.

“There are so many gaffes now made by the President, this is a President who doesn’t know what he is saying, wandering around dazed and confused, and yet he leads the world’s most powerful country.

“It is obvious to anyone that this is a President who has lost his mind, and he is not fit to lead the free world. His state of mental confusion is a big concern.

“What was striking about the press conference was just how angry he is. He is increasingly angry and aggressive, and he looks completely unhinged. His ranting and raving made him look like a complete madman. It’s a sad state of affairs for the US.”

On Friday, Biden came out firing to defend himself from suggestions he is suffering from mental decline.

He said is memory is “fine” while Vice President Kamala Harris branded the classified documents investigation as “politically motivated.”

Donald Trump is facing similar allegations as he is accused of retaining classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

This week the former President said: “You know, look, if he’s not going to be charged, that’s up to them. But then I should not be charged. This is nothing more than selective persecution of Biden’s political opponent: me.”

Special Counsel Hur explained on Friday why Trump is facing charges and why Biden wouldn’t even if he were not a sitting President.

He said: “Mr. Biden turned in classified documents to the National Archives and the Department of Justice, consented to the search of multiple locations including his homes, sat for a voluntary interview, and in other ways cooperated with the investigation.”

But Mr Gardiner tells Daily Express US that he disagrees with the apparent differences in how the cases have been handed.

He said: “It is just ridiculous, Biden acts with complete impunity and there is no accountability. It is outrageous. The Biden Presidency behaves like an imperial presidency and acts with sheer contempt for the American people.

“There is clearly a double standard here. Donald Trump is treated in a different way to Biden, that is the reality. This is why a lot of Americans have lost faith in the political system and the ruling establishment.”
