Joe Biden calls Netanyahu an 'a***hole' over Israel's military campaign in Gaza

President Joe Biden branded Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ‘a******’ in private conversation about him, according to multiple reports.

Biden has grown increasingly frustrated with Netanyahu over his “over the top” campaign in Gaza and has shown contempt for the Israeli leader behind closed doors, sources have told our US partner network NBC News.

The President has been urging Israel to agree to a ceasefire, but those familiar with the conversations said Mr Netanyahu has been “giving him hell” and is difficult to deal with.

The source said: “He just feels like this is enough. It has to stop.”

Biden has at points referred to Netanyahu as just “this guy” in private discussions about his dealings with him – and has called him an “a****le” on at least three recent occasions, according to the network.

The US National Security Council, however, dismissed the sources’ accounts, insisting that despite disagreements on some issues the two men have a “decades-long relationship that is respectful in public and in private”.
