Lisa Hogan, one of the stars of Clarkson’s Farm, has addressed the rifts she and Jeremy Clarkson have experienced with Chipping Norton’s residents.
In the upcoming series of Clarkson’s Farm, the local council sets its sights on the farm shop and car park. Meanwhile, Jeremy and Lisa have to bid farewell to their beloved cows and deal with some heartbreaking deaths at Diddly Squat Farm.
Lisa recently opened up about filming the latest series of the Prime Video programme, opening up about her relationship with her neighbours and previous feuds.
Reflecting on the backlash she has received, she shared: “You know, they’ve always been very supportive in the village.
“There was just a small minority that would complain but thankfully that’s all in the past.”
Addressing some painful moments from series three, Lisa revealed: “It was heartbreaking. Jeremy’s always loved pigs, I didn’t think I’d be that enamoured by pigs but I did get close to them as people will see.”
“Farming’s just sad,” she added. “The animals become your friends and you’re isolated – there are certain farms that are really isolated – and the animals become your family.
“When they become unwell, you’re losing members of your animal family. That scene will have a tremendous impact on audiences.”
Farming has proved to be extremely difficult for Jeremy and Lisa who set up Diddly Squat Farm in 2021.
In the first episode of the upcoming series, his hopes for crop cultivation were dashed after an exceptionally dry summer.
The adverse weather conditions had stunted the growth of potatoes, making them too hard and small for harvesting machinery to pick up.
Jeremy and his right-hand man Kaleb Cooper were left disheartened over the significant setback, with their efforts feeling like a waste.
Recalling how heartbreaking it was to lose many piglets, Jeremy recalled: “It was just a heartbreaking time. I’ve never, ever seen Lisa cry – not once, ever since that all started and was unfolding. It was terrible.”
The former Top Gear host added: “I thought it would be fun to have them, then they all just died in alarming numbers.”
Clarkson’s Farm series three airs on Prime Video on May 3.
