Forty court documents, revealing information about associates of the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have been disclosed to the public.
This release is part of an 18 December court order, and over 150 associates linked to Epstein are anticipated to be unveiled in the unredacted documents.
US Judge Loretta Preska mandated the unsealing of court filings from a lawsuit filed by Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre against Ghislaine Maxwell. The lawsuit, centered on defamation, was initiated in 2015 when Maxwell labeled Giuffre a liar regarding her assertions of being sexually abused as a minor. Although the suit was settled in 2017, the identities involved remained confidential until this recent disclosure.
In her ruling last month, Judge Preska determined that there was no legal basis for maintaining the redaction of names in the documents, potentially linking several well-known figures to the disgraced financier. Beyond exposing Epstein’s associates, the unredacted documents are anticipated to provide additional insights into Epstein’s extensive history of abuse and sex-trafficking spanning decades.
