James Martin lost three stone by eating the same meal twice a day

James Martin has managed to slim down by a massive three stone after he started eating the same meal twice a day.

In order to get in shape, the celebrity chef decided to make sure two of his three meals featured salmon. James said: “What could be simpler than pan-frying a little bit of salmon and serving it with some great new potatoes and seasonal veg?”

According to experts at Eatingwell, salmon “may support weight loss, as well as prevent obesity” as it’s packed with protein which keeps you fuller for longer.

James also ditched certain foods entirely, and revealed that his days of feasting on take-out pizza are long gone: “I no longer stuff my face with really bad things.”

He once guzzled “tons” of calorie-rich dishes throughout his working day. Luckily, he changed his lifestyle and gave up indulging in “Mars bars and fizzy soft drinks”.

James, who was once a regular consumer of fizzy drinks, has transformed his lifestyle by drinking 2.5 litres of water daily.

Discussing his dietary changes, James remarked: “It’s hard work because I’m a big bloke so I’ve really got to watch what I eat and drink, and make sure I exercise regularly.”

During his time on Strictly, he eliminated butter from his diet, resulting in a staggering five-stone weight loss by the competition’s end.

Now, James has reintroduced butter into his meals and has even penned a book titled ‘Butter: Comforting, Delicious, Versatile Over 130 Recipes Celebrating Butter’.

Contrary to popular belief, James doesn’t view butter as overly fattening or something that should be excluded from diets. He argues that the real issue is the prevalence of ready-made meals in Britain, stating: “It’s the fact that not as many people cook in the UK as they do in France or Italy or Spain.”

During a 2019 episode of Loose Women, James was questioned about his self-perception. He replied: “100 percent hence I’m wearing a jacket.

“Weight is quite a big issue. Now she’s got a big TV. It never used to be a problem when she had a little TV. It’s all relative. HD is horrific. I’ve never been a little lad. I’m 6ft 4 and 18 stone.”
