ITV The Chase fans say they 'won't sleep' after guest makes shock decision

ITV fans who tuned into The Chase on Thursday were left shocked after a guest went for a low offer of minus £1,000. Four new contestants were up against Paul Sinha in a bid to win a cash prize.

The fourth contestant was June from Stevenage and put her quizzing skills to the test. However, she managed to only get a few questions right during the cash builder round.

In a bid to try and get back to her team, she decided to take the lower offer of minus £1,000 from The Chaser. Fellow guests Stan and Joe had already banked £14,000 in the jackpot earlier in the programme.

June apologised to her team and said “sorry” after she made the decision, to which host Bradley Walsh said that it was a perfectly sensible decision if she didn’t feel confident against The Chaser.

However, ITV viewers were less than impressed with the decision. One person complained: “So selfish taking the minus offer. Knock her out chaser #TheChase.”

A second person chimed in: “I am not saying a word about the loawoffer but on things for certain I won’t sleep tonight now.” A third typed: “She was always taking the low offer #thechase.”

A fourth person also commented: “Can’t really celebrate getting through with a low offer #thechase.” A sixth also said: “If they were a team, no one would take money from what had already been earned!!”

June ended up getting through to the final round and the final three managed to get 20 questions right. The team then faced Paul as he attempted to catch them in a nail-biting race.

However, he managed to get some questions wrong which enabled the team to push him back. Eventually, they managed to walk away with £12,000 to share between them as Paul failed to catch them within the alloted time frame.

Paul did praise them and said that they were a “fantastic team” and Bradley was over the moon, saying that the team did well under pressure to beat The Chaser.

The Chase airs daily on ITV and ITVX at 5pm.
