Is Victor Wembanyama NBA's next big thing? 19-year-old sensation in French finals this week

San Antonio won the Victor Wembanyama lottery in May, and within the next few months, we might have a sense of how the Spurs’ likely first-round draft pick’s skills translate to the NBA.

But before then, the 19-year-old sensation, who has wowed at the highest amateur levels, has powered his French professional team Metropolitans 92 to the LNB Finals, which continue this week and will be streamed on the NBA app and nba.com.

Favorite AS Monaco, a team with several former NBA players, has home-court advantage in the five-game series. Wembanyama scored just 8 points for the Mets 92 in their blowout loss on Saturday, but he bounced back Monday with a full stat line in a Game 2 loss: 19 points, seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and three blocks.

Victor Wembanyama’s stats during last two seasons
