Inter Milan fans and Paris Saint-Germain supporters clashed on an underground train ahead of Saturday night’s Champions League final. Tension boiled over on the Munich metro system in the hours leading up to the showdown, with punches and kicks exchanged between the two groups in an unsavoury scene.

Footage circulating on social media appears to show a group of Nerazzurri ultras attempting to fight their way through the open door of a train carriage full of PSG fans. Flagsticks were wielded as weapons and objects were thrown through the door as the group of Parisians attempted to fend them off.

One Inter fan took a kick to the face moments before a glass bottle was thrown into the train, and there were angry screams and shouts throughout.

According to French newspaper L’Equipe, some of those wearing Inter jerseys were ‘described as carrying bladed weapons’. One PSG supporter is believed to have been injured in the ambush, which was broken up when authorities stormed the scene and dispersed the crowd using tear gas.
