Majorca is turning away from traditional family friendly package holiday hotels and instead turning their heads to more wealthy tourists with a higher spending power by enticing more up market brands and businesses. Set to open this summer, the island will welcome two luxury British owned five star hotels that will have relaxation and tranquillity at their core.
Expected to open its doors for business in the second quarter of this year is Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra. With a total investment of a whopping £167m, this high profile project will have 131 rooms, of which there will be 44 suites and nine bungalows. The spacious rooms are designed to offer full or partial sea views allowing visitors to draw back their curtains and uncover the glistening turquoise waters. Rooms will come with outdoor terraces or balconies, some of which will even boast private panoramic whirlpools.
It is located on the exclusive small coastal region of Costa d’en Blanes, considered to be one of Majorca’s most romantic destinations.
Boasting soft golden sand beaches, visitors here can spend their days wining and dining in peace whilst enjoying the glorious rays.
Guests can kick back and enjoy the hotel’s state-of-the-art spa offering the Mandarin Oriental group’s signature wellness therapies and beauty treatments. The spa rogrammes will be inspired by Majorca’s natural surroundings.

The second luxuary hotel to open its door this year is the Finca Banyols. Nestled in a peaceful valley on the southern slopes of the Tramuntana Mountain range in Majorca this boutique hotel is part of Vignette Collection, which is owned by London-based InterContinental Hotels Group PLC.
Operated by IHG Hotels & Resorts this 250-acre hotel even has its own vineyards.
Guests staying here can kick back and relax in the spa treatment rooms or sunbathe with a glass of wine or two at the indoor or outdoor pool.
