Inside Josef Fritzl's house of horrors: Where is it and what happened to it

Austrian sex offender Josef Fritzl’s house of horrors where he imprisoned his daughter for years has been divided into separate flats and rented out.

Fritzl, now 88, was jailed in 2009 for life after keeping his daughter locked up in an underground dungeon for 24 years. He has now been granted conditional release and has been spotted for the first time out of prison in 15 years as he arrived at Landesgericht District Court for a hearing.

His home, however, is not sitting empty while he serves time in jail, it has been reported.

His home in Amstetten, Austria, has been split up into nine flats and rented out, despite it being the location where he raped and fathered seven children with his daughter.

“All nine apartments are rented out,” the owners told the Mirror. “There are young people among them who have no connection to the Fritzl case.”
