Britain has certainly been in the pink weather-wise lately but don’t get your hopes up just yet.
Last week saw temperatures nudge 20C (68F) with parts of the UK warmer than Ibiza meaning spring is here at last…or is it?
It still only be March but the recent balmy conditions sparked a riot of colour at the Royal Horticultural Society gardens in Wisley, Surrey, where this stunning pink Camellia is in full bloom.
The explosion of life was a boon for mum Roxy Dixon, 32, and son Jesse, 2, and came after a recent hot blast made most of the UK warmer than Spain and Italy.
While temperatures in Madrid only reached 11C [52F] the south coast saw highs of 15C [59F] with wall-to-wall sunshine.
However, the rest of the week is likely to be decidedly less pleasant with most areas seeing patches of early morning fog, cloud and rain linked to unsettled conditions over northern France.
The Met Office said it will “feel cold” tomorrow, adding: “Cloud and rain across the south will gradually clear in the morning [with] sunny spells and scattered showers across the north and east, with hail and sleet at times.”
But there is hope on the horizon and the prospect of sunnier days as at the end of the month the clocks go forward, meaning longer and brighter days.
