'I'm a retail expert and you can find the best deals by changing where you shop'

Boxing Day is a date circled in the calendars of savvy shoppers as the day after Christmas offers up some enticing discounts.

However, shopping on December 26 can sometimes be overwhelming, navigating your way around shop floors, and dodging other customers in search of the best bargains.

Although the high street is a good place to find a good sale, a lesser-visited destination could be the key to discovering the most frugal festive purchases.

Shopping outlets, such as London Designer Outlet, are actually where you should be heading to get the best deals according to Retail Performance Manager Debbie Gray.

There is an art to pinpointing top-notch discounts. Each brand from Calvin Klein to Converse will have its own delivery schedule,” Debbie explained.

“Tuesday and Saturday are our heaviest drop days at London Designer Outlet. These are the best days to hunt down the fresh arrivals across fashion, homeware, and beauty.

“Keep an eye out for mid-season sales and end-of-the-month payday weekend deals, which will be on top of the year-round savings of up to 70 percent off RRP.”

There is a misconception that outlets are just used to offload out-of-season stock, but Debbie reassured bargain hunters that is simply not the case.

“London Designer Outlet is a varied mix of discounted previous season items, as well as overstock from current full price lines, and you’ll also find exclusive ‘made for outlet’ lines across the shopping destination.”

To avoid the busy crowds and queues and secure the best bargains, Debbie has recommended that shoppers aim to get to outlet stores first thing in the morning.

“It’ll also quieten down at the end of the day, so 7pm to 8pm Monday to Saturday is a good time for a calmer browse,” she added.

F&B Performance Manager Alex Boffrey reminded shoppers that they should be vigilant for extra discounts that often run throughout the school holidays.

“If you’re looking for a more relaxed atmosphere, mid-week is best, as weekends and school holidays are always bustling – many of our restaurants run family-friendly offers or kids eat free deals. Las Iguanas has two for one on alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails every day, all day,” he said.

If you live locally to London, or are heading to the capital for some outlet store bargain hunting, the One Wembley Park Rewards Club is a great way to discover the best deals and keep up with what’s on offer in the shops.
