For those of us with busy lives, keeping on top of the housework isn’t always something that takes priority.

It can feel as though chores build up more and more each day, and tackling them all at once isn’t always possible – whether that’s down to work, family life or any other factor.

But nobody likes to live in a messy home, so it’s likely that many will be looking for quick and easy ways to get a handle on those pesky household tasks.

And thankfully, one popular cleaning expert has come to the rescue with an easy technique that everybody should consider adding to their schedules.

Lynsey Crombie, also known as the Queen of Clean, has built up a loyal following on social media thanks to her easy home organisational tips.

She says adopting something called the ‘one-minute rule’ is one of the easiest ways to keep on top of household chores, and it’s so easy to do.

In a recent TikTok video, Lynsey explained: “If a task takes less than a minute, is simple, quick and easy, then it’s worth doing straight away.”

For example, she showed herself applying cream cleaner to her hob and giving it a quick scrub before wiping it down. This task isn’t very time-consuming at all, but it makes a huge difference to the overall appearance of your kitchen.

Lynsey also tackled her grimy oven glass in less than a minute, explaining, “A sparkling oven door can transform the look of your kitchen.

“It’s such a small task with such a big impact.”

She also recommended wiping down the sink and cleaning the toilet as super-quick tasks that make your whole home look cleaner and more put-together.

Lynsey also shared the video with her fans on Facebook, and many were quick to take to the comments and praise how effective this tip has been in their lives.

One person said: “Clean as you go always been my rule.”

Another commented: “Yes when I’m cooking or waiting for the kettle to boil there’s always a quick job that can be done. When I bath the children I clean the sink and the toilet, if you find yourself waiting for something just do a little something, they add up.”
