Known for selling affordable and quirky furniture, the Scandinavian chain Ikea has ventured into the  hotel business – and everyone is already loving it. The popular company has opened a new hotel in  Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to target the tourism sector.

Just a short five-minute stroll from the renowned Las Alcaravaneras beach, the hotel offers an outdoor swimming pool, garden, terrace, and free Wi-Fi, along with a restaurant serving buffet-style breakfasts. This contemporary hotel, designed exclusively for adults, features understated interiors that exude a refined elegance. The hotel is located 25 minutes away from the main airport.

A compact outdoor swimming pool, bordered by sun loungers, sits in view of the hotel’s restaurant, creating a serene atmosphere for relaxation.

Adjacent to the restaurant, an inviting garden terrace offers a picturesque setting where guests can enjoy breakfast in the open air. Rates begin at £105 per night, covering a continental breakfast – breaking down to just over £50 per person.

Several visitors who have been to the hotel have been left impressed by its features and most of them have one common thing to say.

According to the tourists, the pool area of the hotel is among its best features. One of the users wrote a review on booking.com: “The hotel was lovely, clean, modern with lovely pool/seating area.”

A second user said: “Very clean, nice pool area with good opportunities for sunbathing, nice staff and good breakfast.”

A third user added: “I really liked the quietness, you can’t hear any street noise, and the pool area is beautiful. They also treated us wonderfully at all times. The cleaning was great and the breakfast was delicious.”

Encouraged by the success of its latest venture, Ikea has already set its sights on a second establishment: Las Vegas de Ciudad Jardín Suites.

This upcoming project will merge two neighbouring chalets – one on Brasil Street, 15, and the other on Fortuny Street, 3 – adding 21 more rooms and expanding the boutique accommodation offerings in the area to a total of 42.
