‘I went to Chinese city where there’s robots and noiseless trains’ | Asia | Travel

China is one of the largest, most populated countries in the world and a global power thanks to its significant economic growth, military size, manufacturing hub and advanced technology.

It is also a popular travel/latest/travel-advice destination attracting tourists from across the globe. Iconic landmarks in China like the Great Wall and Forbidden City in Beijing are major draws for visitors.

The rich history, natural beauty and vibrant culture, including Chinese cuisine, also attract visitors to this east Asian country. Riyan Ruparelia, a content creator known as Bearded Travels on social media, shared a video on TikTok about his visit to Chongqing, one of China’s national central cities.

Chongqing, famous for its mountainous landscapes, is known as the ‘Mountain City’ and it is near the Yangtze and Jialing rivers. In his TikTok clip Riyan said: “China is living in the future so here’s everything that blew my mind on my most recent three-day trip to Chongqing.

“Starting off with the hotels, the majority of which have smart rooms where you can control pretty much everything from the click of a button, including this huge projector screen and they literally have smart toilets everywhere.”

He stayed at the ISEYA Panoramic Hotel and added that if you want to order anything to your room “an entire robot” will deliver it to you and he found it crazy that people “act like it’s normal.” The tourist then spoke about the “insane” engineering and noted that Chongqing was “built on a mountain” and has a population of more than 30 million people.

Riyan remarked: “You can be in a main square with shops and restaurants all around you and then realise you’re on the 22nd floor and if that’s not enough, the engineers actually built an entire train track into a residential building which then proceeds to wrap around a mountain, and believe it or not the train doesn’t make any noise whatsoever.”

Next, the travel content creator discussed the cars in China, noting that the majority are electric and “you’ve probably never heard of them.” He branded them as “super luxurious” and have “absolutely incredible performance”.

Riyan continued: “And if you’re in two minds you can get a bike slash car but what blew my mind most was the skyline at night time. This city lights up and it feels like you’re in some sort of sci-fi movie.

“The drone shows every Saturday are next level so if you want a taste of the future then make sure to pay China a visit because it will really surprise you.”

According to China Discovery, most travelers come to Chongqing to enjoy the Yangtze River cruise that allows passengers to appreciate the natural beauty of the Three Gorges Dam. Chongqing is also famous for its representative dish, the hot pot.

Riyan’s TikTok video has garnered more than 80 comments with users sharing their thoughts and one user said: “Omg I can’t get my head over this! This is crazy! I do want to visit China!” Another added: “They are so far ahead it’s amazing.”
