'I cleaned my new house using white vinegar spray – and now I'm obsessed'

Moving into a new apartment can be exciting, but there are a lot of problems that need fixing as soon as possible.

Noticing the water pressure in the shower wasn’t as strong as I would like, I got in contact with a plumber.

The first piece of advice I got was to make sure that the shower head wasn’t clogged up with limescale.

Upon looking, I was dismayed by what was clearly a not-so-clean shower head.

Ready to attempt the white vinegar cleaning hack, I unturned the rainfall shower head and placed it into a tub of white vinegar I poured straight from the bottle.

I used Stardrops White Vinegar Spray, which I bought from Asda for £1.15.

In the vinegar-filled tub, I also placed the handheld shower that was part of the shower system.

Getting on with my day, when I returned, I was amazed by how much limescale had come off the shower heads already.

With a little scrub, both shower pieces looked brand new, and I was elated.

Becoming a little bit obsessed with the white vinegar cleaning hack, I then proceeded to clean up all the faucets in my home.

When it came to the bathroom taps, I poured some white vinegar into a plastic bag and then tied the bag up using an old hairband.

Impressed by how lovely and clean all the household faucets looked afterwards, white vinegar spray is now a permanent addition to my cleaning cupboard.

When it came to the shower pressure, unfortunately, it seems there is still a problem.

There is, however, only a problem with the hot water tap, which I later realised when I tried to have my first bath in my new place.

Having already spent a lot furnishing the place, the hot water issue – that is isolated to the bath and shower only – will need to be fixed another time.

In the meantime, however, there are plenty of other household tasks to work my way through.

Next on the list is to finish painting the whole of the lounge area, including the skirting boards and doors.
