Huge blow for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after royal return 'ruled out' for key reason

An expert has dismissed claims that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could make a return to royal life, saying the idea has been “completely ruled out” for one key reason.

Rumours have been swirling since the Duke of Sussex returned to the UK to visit King Charles following his shock cancer diagnosis. According to reports, Harry told friends he would be willing to step into a “temporary” royal role to help out his father while he undergoes treatment.

But a royal expert has dismissed this, adding that a comeback is nearly impossible following a series of allegations the couple made. Speaking to The Sun, Valentine Low explained how the couple have “said so many things about William, about Camilla, about his own father.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down from their roles in 2020, with Harry releasing his memoir Spare in January 2023. The late Queen made it clear to them both that they could not have a hybrid role as in being half-in and half out, which Meghan and Harry wanted at the time.

Ms Low added: “Prince Charles as he was then was absolutely behind that. It’s not as if the royal family was divided in their views.”

The big question was if their activities in the United States could have an effect on their royal activities. He said that what Meghan and Harry do “commercially, would taint the brand and mystique of the monarchy.”

During an interview with Good Morning America, Harry told presenter Will Reeve “I love my family” and hinted at a possible reunion.

A source gave Vanity Fair an insight into the likelihood of Harry stepping into a temporary role, saying: “The idea of Harry coming back to the UK to carry out engagements on behalf of the King is highly, highly unlikely. There is a carefully mapped out contingency plan in place if the King is unable to carry out public-facing engagements over the coming months, and none of these involve Prince Harry.”

The source went on to tell Vanity Fair that both Prince William and Harry are “barely speaking” and the “idea of William wanting Harry to come back and represent the firm is both laughable and unthinkable.” Sources close to William said that he would be the one to take on more duties during this time. They said that Harry and Meghan “cannot be trusted.”
