A surge of summer heat is poised to sweep across much of England next month. Saturday, June 14, could rank as one of the hottest days of the year so far, with temperatures soaring up to 29C in several regions, according to the latest weather maps. WXCharts forecasts widespread heat across the South East, the Midlands, and parts of the South West.
Cities like London and Birmingham, along with counties such as Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, and Surrey, are expected to experience some of the highest temperatures, climbing to 27C, 28C, and even 29C around 6pm. Meanwhile, Netweather predicts a heatwave with temperatures reaching as high as 31C and 30C in London, and up to 29C in Sussex and Kent around mid-afternoon.
The Met Office’s long-range forecast for June 12 to June 26 suggests that temperatures may be higher than usual as we approach the latter half of June.
It reads: “Changeable weather across the UK with a mixture of Atlantic weather systems moving in from the west interspersed with dry and sunny periods.
“The wettest conditions are likely to be in the northwest, with the driest weather in the south and southeast. Temperatures are most likely to be near or slightly above normal, perhaps with some hot spells at times, especially across the south.”
