A woman has reported being sexually assaulted by a man in a balaclava in a terrifying early evening attack on a suburban street. Warwickshire Police said the woman was attacked by a balaclava-clad man at the junction of St Nicolas Park Drive and Rydall Avenue, in Nuneaton, Warks between 5pm and 6pm.
Investigators described the suspect as a white man, around 5ft 7in tall and of medium build. He was wearing a balaclava and a black tracksuit and was said to be carrying a black bag.
Police said the attack is not believed to be linked to recent incidents in Ansley and Arley, villages close to Nuneaton where officers received reports of lone women being assaulted earlier this month. Warwickshire Police described the main suspect in those incidents as having long dark hair, tanned skin, stubble and a foreign accent, possibly Eastern European.

A spokesman for Warwickshire Police said the incident was reported to them on the same night as the attack and “a specialist investigation was immediately launched”.
They added: “An investigation is underway after a man is reported to have sexually assaulted a woman between 5pm and 6pm on St Nicolas Park Drive (October 28).
“While we do not think this assault is linked to the ones that happened in Ansley and Arley recently, we are keeping an open mind and will continue to review this.
“We have been conducting house-to-house enquiries, speaking with potential witnesses, combing CCTV and working to support the victim.
“Neighbourhood officers are in the area. Please come and speak with them if you have concerns. Did you see anything suspicious, or do you have doorbell or dashcam footage? Please call 101, giving incident number 435 of October 28.”
