Homes Under the Hammer star Jacqui Joseph had a warning for a property developer as he took on a major renovation project.
The property programme returned to BBC One on Wednesday (May 1), with Jacqui and Martel Maxwell at the helm. During the episode, first aired in 2022, Jacqui headed to Crystal Palace in London to a location just 30 minutes from the station.
There stood a three-bed detatched home which went to auction for £750,000+. After exploring the inside of the property, the presenter met up with Mulhern, who purchased the lot for £740,000.
Fans may recognise Mulhern as he’d appeared on the BBC programme before. Since he first joined the experts, Mulhern had been busy with various projects all over London.
Asked about the auction, Mulhern admitted it was “unusual” as bids were done online. Explaining why he purchased that particular property, he revealed the property already having planning permission meant they could begin immediately.
Mulhern shared his plans build out the house as it is and convert it into five flats. Following their first conversation, Jacqui said: “He seems really confident and he’s taking it all in his stride.”
But she issued a stern warning, adding: “Let’s remember, there’s lots of work to be done and large of sums of money to be spent.”
