Hidden Fire TV Stick feature boosts your device for free – all users should try it now

If your Amazon Fire TV Stick is starting to feel a little lacklustre there’s a very simple way to try and put a spring back in its step. Like all tech devices – such as phones and laptops – your Fire TV Stick can get clogged up over time. This is where the simple process of switching it off and back on again can help. A reboot will clear any issues, stop apps from crashing and even improve the performance of the device and the best part is you don’t need to reach around the back of your TV to get things restarted.

As the team at Firestickhacks.com explains, all you have to do is grab your remote control then press and hold the main “Select” and “Play/Pause” buttons together for 10 seconds.

Once that’s done your Fire TV device will begin the reboot process. That’s the quickest way to reset things but you can also dig into the settings menu as well to turn your dongle on and off again.

To do it the manual way simply go to Settings, then tap on the My Fire TV icon and scroll down to Restart. If none of that helps you can also pull the plug on the device, wait for 10 seconds and pop the power back on.

Of course, if your Fire TV Stick is really old it might be time to invest in something totally new. Perhaps one of the best upgrades is the latest Fire TV Stick 4K Max which now features a faster processor, speedy Wi-Fi 6E streaming and an exclusive Ambient Experience which is not available on any other Fire Stick.

This feature offers stacks of free artwork which makes your telly appear like a constantly changing work of art. You can also add useful floating widgets over the top for easy access to things such as weather, sticky notes, smart home gadgets and what’s on live TV.

If that sounds enticing the Fire TV 4K Max is on sale now for £69.99. Want to know more? You can read our full Fire TV 4K Max review.
