Healthy Slimming World cake made with Weetabix is 'the perfect teatime treat' – recipe

Cake can certainly be enjoyed as part of a healthy diet but this healthy recipe makes it even easier to indulge without the guilt.

While traditional recipes tend to call for lots of sugar, fats and more often than not, chocolate, Slimming World has crafted a light alternative.

Even better than fruity banana bread, this Weetabix loaf combines juicy sultanas with the classic crumbly cereal biscuits.

As shared on the Slimming World blog, the cake was described as “moreish”, “healthy” and “the perfect teatime treat”.

What’s more, with just three and a half syns per serving, it’s easy to include in your everyday meal plan.

Weetabix cake recipe

Start with a preheated oven set to 180C (160C fan, gas 4), then line a 450g loaf tin with greaseproof baking paper.

Combine the Weetabix and milk in a large bowl then leave to soak for two or three minutes before mashing with a fork.

Add the remaining ingredients to the same bowl, ensuring everything is well combined by beating it all together.

Once the mixture resembles a coherent cake batter, spoon it into the prepared loaf tin and leave it to bake in the oven for one hour.

After this time, carefully remove the loaf from the oven and leave to cool on a wire rack.

When the cake is much cooler and less likely to break, gently turn it out of the tin and slice it into 12 equal servings ready to enjoy.
