A 45-year-old Mauritanian woman seeking asylum shows a scar on her arm from when she was beaten by officials in her country and jailed due to her political viewpoints. She now lives on Columbus' East Side and is seeking asylum to stay in this country, as she fears death if she's sent back to her home country.

But the torture may not be over for the 34-year-old Mauritanian man, as immigration advocates are sounding the alarm about alleged racial discrimination in Ohio’s only immigration court in Cleveland.
