Good Morning Britain viewers say same thing as ITV show has major host shake-up

Usually at the end of the week on Good Morning Britain, fans watch hosts Kate Garraway and Adil Ray bring viewers the latest headlines. Although this week, the programme had a presenter shake-up as Ed Balls and Susanna Reid fronted the show instead.

The duo usually host alongside one another at the beginning of the week, however, they were on Friday’s Good Morning Britain for a special episode. It wasn’t long before viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts on seeing the 53-year-olds on the programme on a Friday as many were thrilled.

Social media user @domain_harry said: “Such a treat to have an extra helping of Susanna on a Friday morning [sic] #gmb” @ScottMoffett01 added: “Have I slept over the whole weekend and woke up Monday?”

@KeeleyMicky added: “Is it Monday?? Strange to see you on a Friday.” Another viewer commented: “Such a treat to have an extra helping of Susanna on a Friday morning.”

Thrilled, @Mjh17Mjh tweeted: “The A team on a Friday.” @jc010157 praised: “What a brilliant newspaper half hour this morning, a big plus as well Ed and Susanna both on. Really enjoyed.”

Although Kate wasn’t taking the reins on the show this Friday, she was still in the studio bringing people updates on the local election results.

However, her bold choice of outfit seemed to distract some viewers as she opted for a vibrant two-piece.

Wearing a shiny silk blouse and high-waisted tailored trousers, both in a bright purple, people were quick to compare the bold choice to a popular confectionery.

@wrinklytimelord asked: “Why is Kate dressed like the purple one from the Quality Street tin?”

It seemed as though many people agreed with the social media user as other viewers made the same comparison.

The 56-year-old fronted the programme on Thursday morning alongside Richard Madeley as they spoke to stars such as Carey Mulligan and Dionne Warwick.

Over the past few weeks, the ITV show has had a series of presenter changes following the exit of Ben Shepard. Although he had been on the programme for 10 years, Ben departed the show in February to join This Morning.

As he used to front Good Morning Britain at the end of the week, Adil Ray told his Instagram followers he’d be taking over for the upcoming weeks.

Last week on the show, Adil celebrated his 50th birthday on the show as the programme surprised him with breakfast and a cake with photos of his face on.

Commenting on his gift, he said: “Thank you very much! Birmingham City colours cake, I don’t know how I feel about that but that’s alright but I’m really grateful!”

Good Morning Britain continues weekdays on ITV from 6am.
