GMB fury as fans rage at 'obsession' with Prince Harry and King Charles

Viewers begged Good Morning Britain to “shut up” this morning after claiming that the ITV show’s royal “obsession” was spiralling out of control. Angry reactions were aired on Twitter as followers quizzed why GMB was not focusing on the country’s “broken” government instead and requested “privacy” for the King as he recovers from cancer.

“Seriously so sick of @GMB this obsession they have with Prince Harry and Meghan. The more time goes on and you really see how unhinged these people are – what business is it of theirs if Harry sees Dad or not?” one viewer exclaimed.

Another argued: “As usual instead of focusing on the Invictus Games & how wonderful it is @gmb & our tabloid papers are choosing to speculate about why Harry isn’t seeing his father, as if that’s anyone else’s business but theirs. #GoodMorningBritain #gmb.” A third defended: “Oh come on now #GMB. Our #KC3 is being treated for CANCER! He is trying to fit in as many public duties as he can. Why are you all making it about the King’s timing?”

The tweeter added: “Harry has NO right to the King’s time after what he and his evil wife have said about the RF [royal family]!” Meanwhile, others argued that the focus should be on the reason for Harry’s return to the UK, rather than his relationship with the King.

He is marking the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games with a speech at London’s St Paul’s Cathedral – with just a couple of miles believed to be separating himself and his father. Latching onto the occasion, one GMB viewer wrote: “Forget Harry for a sec. Funny how the British Media has on blinders. Ten years of Invictus is Monumental for Wounded Veterans worldwide!”

Others argued that they would like to see more focus on repairing the “damage” done to Britain in recent times.

One exclaimed: “Meanwhile back in the real world – we are living in broken Tory Britain.”

Another agreed: “The UK is in a mess and @GMB is making a family fall out the main story!! Should you not focus on all the events that are challenging the public’s everyday lives? The state of public services, low pay, record levels of immigration and China hacking our systems, including the MOD.”

There were also calls for GMB to cover the Astra Zeneca vaccine withdrawal, after it emerged that it is no longer being manufactured or supplied.

This is said to be due to a “surplus of available updated vaccines”, while others have also highlighted that, months earlier, a rare side-effect to the jabs was discovered.

Meanwhile, the news that Harry will reportedly not be seeing his father this week opened up wounds for those affected by family rifts themselves, and some took to social media to share heartbreaking stories.

One lamented: “I was 3 months under my 17th birthday when my Dad kicked me out of my family home on Christmas Day, I’m now 58yo and I haven’t seen my family since.”

“I know it’s different circumstances but I never ever want to see them ever again.”

However, a spokesperson for the royals has clarified that Harry and Charles do intend to see each other again, stating: “The duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”
