Gerwyn Price sent a cheeky quip the way of fellow World Darts Championship ace Joe Cullen following the pair’s Ally Pally epic on Friday night.
Price had raced ahead in the round three clash, establishing a comfortable 3-0 set advantage.
But his lead quickly evaporated when Cullen found his groove and mounted a fightback. In the blink of an eye the Bradford-born arrowsmith was back level, with the match forced into a deciding set.
It would eventually go the way of Price, but it wasn’t for a lack of drama. The duo hit an astonishing nine breaks of throw across the last set, with double finishing proving a problem for the pair.
Speaking to Sky Sports following the contest, Price cheekily referenced the recent interviews from Cullen, where the 35-year-old went viral for his less-than-talkative approach.
