In just two episodes of Celebrity Big Brother, Princess Kate’s uncle, Gary Goldsmith, has made a number of candid admissions about the Royal Family in just 48 hours.

The businessman, 58, is the younger brother of Carole Middleton and is currently one of the housemates in the new series of the popular reality show.

After only entering the house on Monday, Gary wasted no time discussing the Royal Family – including his opinion on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The new series – which follows a six-year Celebrity Big Brother hiatus has also reunited The X Factor’s Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh.

In Monday’s launch episode, Walsh and Osbourne were tasked with watching their fellow contestants and rating them. The pair nominated three housemates to be “in danger” of facing a public vote, based on first impressions.

They chose Princess Kate’s uncle Gary, David Potts, and Zeze Millz – and when asked for their reasoning, Louis replied: “We didn’t like them”.

1. Prince Harry was ‘really loved’ by the general public

Within a few hours of entering the Celebrity Big Brother House, Gary Goldsmith claimed Prince Harry’s popularity rocketed before Meghan Markle’s arrival.

Speaking to his fellow housemates, he said: “I have the opinion that Harry was really, really, really loved, massively loved, and when they were a threesome – Kate, William and Harry. They were really comfortable together and loved.”

He said of Harry’s relationship with Meghan: “Then suddenly there’s an extra dynamic that comes in, puts a stick in the spokes and creates so much drama that I don’t generally think is there, and re-wrote the history and said how unhappy he was.”

2. Prince Harry ‘may want to come back’ to the Royal Family

Chatting to TV personality, Sharon Osbourne, Gary Goldsmith, questioned Harry and Meghan’s popularity in the United States.

Sharon believed everyone in America was “fed up with their moaning”.

This prompted Gary, 58, to say: “I think it is pretty sad because I think at some point he’s going to want to come back and be part of the gang, he might need to, but I think we’re a very forgiving nation and I think everybody will give him a chance again.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are tipped to be returning to the UK as soon as this spring for a service at St Paul’s Cathedral to commemorate 10 years of the Invictus Games.

It is expected Harry will attend, although whether the couple will bring their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet over remains uncertain.

3. Princess Kate is “difficult to get hold of”

In scenes that aired in recent episodes, the brother of Kate’s mother, Carole Middleton, said: “It’s difficult to get hold of Kate at the best of times, and she’s got children and I love the fact she’s putting family first.”

Mr Goldsmith praised Kate as “simply perfect” and hoped she was in a “nice house somewhere” watching him on TV as she continues to recover from abdominal surgery.

Princess Kate is currently recovering from pre-planned abdominal surgery which she underwent earlier this year at The London Clinic.

Kate spent 13 nights in the hospital before being discharged. The Princess of Wales is “doing well” as she continues to recover from abdominal surgery, according to a Kensington Palace spokesperson, and she will be returning to public duty after easter.

4. Where Princess Kate could be watching Celebrity Big Brother

Gary Goldsmith was questioned by ITV hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best, asking where Princess Kate is – and he didn’t hold back with his response.

Hosts of the ITV1 show, AJ Odudu, 36, and Will Best, 39, asked: “The nation needs to know, will Kate be watching?” to which Gary Goldsmith, 58, replied: “If she is, it’ll be behind the sofa, I guess!”

Following on from the admission, the hosts probed again: “Which sofa though?”

The businessman retorted: “It’ll be a nice one in a nice house. I can guarantee that.”

Princess Kate is currently recovering from abdominal surgery – and it is not known if the mum-of-three will be tuning in.
