Gabriel Iglesias won’t let a little turbulence keep him away from the stage.
The stand-up comedian revealed in an Instagram post Friday that the private jet he was traveling on was forced to make an emergency landing in North Carolina. The “Fluffy” star shared a video clip of the plane after it landed in a grassy field.
“Emergency landing!!! Our private jet skid off the runway and wound up in a field in Andrews, (North) Carolina,” Iglesias wrote alongside the video. “Everyone is ok but shaken up. Happy to be alive.”
The comedian, who is currently performing on his Don’t Worry Be Fluffy Tour, expressed his gratitude for the flight’s pilots in a follow-up Instagram post Friday, thanking them for their efforts in ensuring passengers’ safety.
“Thank (you) to the pilots who did what they had to do to get us on the ground safely,” Iglesias wrote. “This could have been so bad. Grateful I live to see another day, and yes I will be flying tomorrow… just not on this jet.”
True to his word, Iglesias gave fans an update on his continued air travel in an Instagram post Saturday.
“New day, new jet,” Iglesias wrote alongside a photo of the plane. “Of course, we were freaking out the whole flight after what (happened) yesterday, but we made it safely to Mississippi … The show must go on!”
Iglesias isn’t the only star to experience trouble in the skies. Last March, pop star Miley Cyrus shared on social media that her plane was struck by lightning as she was traveling to Asunción, Paraguay.
A short video clip on Cyrus’ Instagram showed a bright light flashing outside the plane’s windows as passengers audibly gasped and shouted. The plane’s exterior had some visible damage in a subsequent photo.
