‘Frustrated’ Prince Harry and Meghan think they should ‘be a priority’ with royal news

When it comes to hearing news about the Royal Family, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are not happy they are “no longer prioritised” in receiving news first-hand.

A royal expert has claimed the California-based couple were unhappy they were only told about the Princess of Wales’s cancer diagnosis a day before her video was released to the public.

Speaking to The Mirror, Tom Quinn said: “They already feel annoyed and frustrated that they are no longer prioritised when it comes to this sort of thing – it just reinforces their sense of victimhood, and that, rather than leaving the Royal Family they were pushed out.”

The royal expert added “they are no longer part of the inner circle”, but they brought the situation on themselves when they decided to move to California and cease their roles as working royals in 2020.

The royal expert explained Harry and Meghan, who live with their two children, Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two, in Montecito, California, are being “kept up-to-date” with Kate’s condition as she battles cancer and continues with her recovery.

He added: “Ignoring the couple completely would only lead to public attacks from Harry and Meghan and how they are being kept out of the loop and treated badly as usual.”

Following Princess Kate’s pre-planned abdominal surgery back in January, she announced she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy and thanked fans for their support in an emotional statement.

The Princess of Wales admitted her cancer diagnosis was a “huge shock” and explained: “In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful.

“However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”

After the video was released, the royal duo offered their support in a statement which said: “We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace.”

The Royal Family is under increasing pressure to keep up with royal engagements following King Charles’s cancer diagnosis which was detected earlier this year.

After the news was made public by Buckingham Palace, Prince Harry rushed to the UK from Los Angeles for a brief visit to Clarence House to meet with his father.

Harry cleared his diary and made the journey to the UK alone, with the Duchess of Sussex and their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet remaining at home in California.

It is expected the Duke of Sussex will make a return to the UK next month for the anniversary of the Invictus Games where he is set to speak at the event at St Paul’s Cathedral on May 8.
