The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued multiple recalls last week, including more than 142,000 Ford Lincoln MKC vehicles for potential fire risk and more than 29,000 Ford vehicles for incorrect load carrying capacity labels on tires.
Tesla is also recalling a small amount of 2022-2023 Model Y vehicles due to steering wheel issues.
Car owners can check USA TODAY’s automotive recall database or search NHTSA’s database for new recalls. The NHTSA website also allows you to search for recalls based on your vehicle identification number, or VIN.

Ford Lincoln recall for potential fire risk
Ford is recalling 142,734 of its 2015-2019 Lincoln MKC vehicles because the battery monitor sensor may short-circuit and overheat, which can cause a fire in the engine compartment.
Owners should park the Lincoln outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete, NHTSA said.
Ford will mail notification letters to customers by June 26, 2026. If you have this vehicle, dealers will add an in-line fuse to the battery monitor sensor power circuit for free.

Ford recalls Bronco, F-250, Ranger
Ford is recalling 29,607 of its 2022-2023 Bronco, 2023 Super Duty F-250 and 2019-2023 Ranger vehicles due to the tire and loading information label stating the incorrect load carrying capacity, which can result in an overloaded vehicle.
Owners have the option to take their vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to have the new label installed for free or Ford will mail them a new label to install over the existing label.
Ford will mail notification letters to owners by July 5, 2023.

Tesla Model Y recall due to steering wheel issues
Tesla is recalling 137 of its 2022-2023 Model Y vehicles because the steering wheel fastener may be loose, which can cause the steering wheel to disconnect from the steering column.
Tesla will replace the fastener for free. Tesla will mail notification letters to customers by July 28, 2023.

Jaguar I-PACE recall due to overheating battery
Jaguar Land Rover is recalling 6,367 of its 2019-2024 Jaguar I-PACE vehicles due to the high-voltage battery overheating, which increases the risk of a fire.
Owners can get the battery energy control module software updated or replaced at a dealer for free. Jaguar Land Rover will mail notification letters to owners by July 21, 2023.
