A Florida mayor jailed nearly two years ago for a drunk-driving crash is reportedly back behind bars after allegedly flunking a drug test while on probation.
Teresa Heitmann, the mayor of Naples, was arrested Monday night for violating her probation after testing positive for cannabinoids, the main compound found in marijuana, during a court-mandated drug test on March 26, according to police records obtained by Gulf Coast News and WINK.
The 62-year-old – on probation for an August 2024 DUI bust – was hit with unlawful possession or use of cannabinoids.
“We are aware of the situation involving Mayor Teresa Heitmann,” a Naples spokesperson told The Post in a statement, adding that the city’s vice mayor will step in during Heitmann’s absence.
“The Naples residents and visitors can be assured that the City Council, administration, and staff remain dedicated to serving our community.”
Heitmann did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
The pol, who has served as mayor since 2020, was first arrested on August, 28, 2024, for driving with a blood-alcohol level more than twice the legal limit after plowing into a neighbor’s mailbox.
Shocking bodycam footage captured Heitmann stumbling through field sobriety tests – at one point identifying herself as the mayor before bizarrely trying to distance herself from the job.
“No, don’t call me mayor,” she is heard telling a police officer in the video footage.
“I am Teresa Heitmann right now. I am not the mayor.”
The embattled mayor was slapped with a year of probation in February after pleading no contest to DUI with a blood-alcohol level of 0.15 or higher, according to Gulf Coast News.
Her probation reportedly barred alcohol use and required substance evaluations and random drug testing.
Heitmann is being held in Naples Jail, WINK reported.
She was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday afternoon.
